Day 21

This morning, I tried dippy eggs and soldiers. This was lovely and something I’ve missed not being able to eat eggs for so long!

We didn’t have egg cups but weirdly the peanut weighing cups were the perfect size!

I then took my 1000mg dose in yogurt. I’m trying to find different ways to take it as they are quite disgusting! This wasn’t too bad but because I hadn’t filled my teeth with crackers first, I ended up with lots of peanut pieces stuck in my teeth! So, the peanut taste lingered for a while!

We then headed to the Delta Flight Museum for the afternoon. This was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and very reasonable at $15 per adult! No food or drink allowed inside though.

Can’t believe that week 4 in clinic starts tomorrow!!!!! So not ready to leave the team at Freedom Allergy…

  1. I am just curious why you chose the office you did. We live in the midwest, and we only have one local office that does OIT, but we’d be willing to travel if I felt really good about the care.

  2. We chose Dr A due to the hugely positive reviews and the experience of others travelling from the UK. He also has an international programme. This isn’t possible to do in the UK as an adult.

    1. That’s very interesting. Thank you for sharing. I will see if I can find more information on his office. It sounds like he’s taken very good care of you. Are you doing bite or CC for peanut, or are you trying to dose to a level where you can eat them? Now, is it just peanuts that you are allergic to for food allergens?

  3. I think that would be my daughter’s goal, as well. I really appreciate you sharing all this detailed information about your journey. It’s gotten me thinking of the importance of this for my daughter, who is about to turn 13. I’d love it if she could be less anxious about foods. When we travel we always bring all our food and the only place we eat out is Chipotle since they don’t have any peanuts or treenuts. We’d also love to be able to travel to Europe. Overall, I’m just hopeful this will help her live a life with less fear and anxiety. I’m sure these are similar to most peoples desires who have food allergies.
