Yesterday, the 28th January, we flew from London Heathrow to Atlanta with British Airways.
Security is always a nightmare wen you’re travelling with EpiPens and antihistamine and the security officer did ask me for my doctor’s letter. This is because my antihistamine didn’t have a prescription label on it but all was fine once she saw my letter…phew!
Security done…and breathe!
Then we went straight to the gate and I ate a pre-made sandwich from home. I never eat airline food or eat at a restaurant/cafe before a flight as it just isn’t worth the risk on an already busy day!
The thought of having a reaction at 38,000ft is just not worth thinking about.
So, BA made the announcement and we kicked back and relaxed on the 9 and a half hour flight to Atlanta. It was a smooth journey and we managed to get some sleep and watch some TV.
On arrival in Atlanta, we waited for the airport shuttle to the rental car department. This took quite a while and we were getting tired by this point as it was almost 20 hours since we woke up!
Picking up our rental car was a breeze when we got there and the car was lovely and easy to drive!
We are now staying in central Atlanta for two nights before heading up to our suite which is a short drive from the clinic.
We’re looking forward to exploring Atlanta today!!
